American Needlework Treasures by Betty Ring
I LOOOOOVE this book. Betty Ring was America's preeminent sampler scholar. She passed away in 2014, but her scholarly research on and her passion for schoolgirl samplers from centuries past live on in her impressive work. This book is a great starter if you'd like to learn about American samplers. It includes lots and lots of full-color pictures and commentary on samplers, as well as a hearty introduction to mourning samplers in the back.
This book is out of print. It was originally published in 1987. The copy you are getting is obviously pre-owned, but in good condition for your craft library.
