English Embroideries by Mary M. Brooks
This nice little book is a nice reference for what types of needlework were done in the 16th and 17th centuries (a lot of stumpwork/tent-stitch pieces). I love these designs -- they're like needlepoint, with really small stitches and full coverage. This book was released in 2004 and is out of print -- as with all of the out of print books I carry, they are often pre-owned, but in good condition. This is a great book if you're just starting to learn about this topic, but it's interesting if you already know a bunch, too. Solid little book -- well worth owning!
