Samplers & Samplermakers: An American Schoolgirl Art 1700-1850
by Mary Jaene Edmonds -- published 1991. 161 pp.
This book is a fantastic reference for anyone from those just starting to learn about samplers to ... well, those who have been learning about samplers for a long time. Chock-full of historical information, insights, photographs (most are in color.)
Chapters are divided by state, with the last chapter being about the Shakers. You do not get any charts in this book, but you do get lots, and lots, and lots of eye candy. This book is an A+ (it was dedicated to Betty Ring, so...you know...sampler quality!)
Please note: this book is long-since out of print, so your book has been owned before. There may be some gentle signs of shelf wear, and it could be a former library book with plastic cover over the paper cover.
