A Great Loss: Jean Lea
The stitching and sampler community has just experienced the loss of one of its brightest stars: Jean Lea of The Attic in Mesa, Arizona. Jean's enthusiasm for samplers old and new was evident in everything she did, and she truly delighted in passing on her love of needlework to the larger community.

Jean faced her illness with spirit and a positive attitude, and continued her involvement with her much-loved shop and retreats until the end.

No doubt her love and enthusiasm will live on in the hearts, minds, and needlework of those she touched. Her beauty remains in those who knew her.
Friday, January 31:

Market prep continues -- this week, I did the finishing for three of my upcoming market releases! I think at this count, there will be nine new releases, including a market-exclusive little kit, drawn from one of the antique samplers in my collection.

I believe I first attended market as a vendor in 2007 or 2008. At that time, my friend Sue and I were designing as "Raise the Roof Designs." Over the years, I have come up with a system to prep for the biggest needlework event of the year. Right now, I'm stitching, finishing, and prepping for print my releases. I keep a running "To Do" list that doesn't get shorter -- as I cross some items off the list, others are added. It's everything from: "Find credit card thingy," and "Book a rental car," to "Pack fabric/miscellaneous" and "Order spools?" The list is re-written weekly, so it doesn't feel so chaotic.

I know sometimes the designer lifestyle is glamorized, because at the end of it, we all have lovely booths full of beautiful models, products, and charts. In reality, back-stage we're folding paper and stuffing plastic bags, packing boxes, and sweating that one last thing we want to get done before we go.

I get a buzz thinking about market weekend, though. It's still a thrill after all of these years to get to see my dear friends in the community. I love seeing what they have created. So many smiles in one building!

Love you all! - Theresa

I don't carry anything I don't like -- truly! There are so many great designs, old and new, so many samplers to stitch, so many fabrics to fondle, and lots of great fibers, books, tools, trims, and more.... watch for more expansion of products -- to not only include what's good in needlework, but what's good in .... well, being good!

You're going to love my flat shipping fees -- $5 in the U.S. Really! The more you buy, the better that deal gets, so get a clickin'.
Orders are always filled in the order they are received -- shipping waits can vary from one to seven days, depending on order volume. If you can add it to your cart and pay for it, that means that item is in stock and ready to ship to you (unless it's marked as a "preorder.") If you place an order and then see that an item is marked "out of stock," you probably purchased the last one. Items are subtracted from my inventory one-by-one as orders are placed.

I appreciate your business, support, friendship, and well-wishes. They keep me going day-after-day. Cheers! - Theresa
