Christmas Colors: MD's Sampler by Shakespeare's Peddler

I found this lovely little sampler on eBay for a pittance and just fell in love with what looks like a random filling-up of the available space. The original sampler is stitched right out to the edge of the fabric -- the border bounces from corner to corner. As soon as the stitcher got to a corner, she just turned, and kept stitching in the next direction!

You can tell she wanted to fill up all of her space, so the motifs are packed in pretty tightly, along with initials of what I assume to be family members and friends. I stitched mine in silks, but I include a Sampler Thread and DMC conversion. The original sampler looks square, because the linen used is an unevenweave.
