"This is a stunning early 19th-century sampler. The original was stitched using silk threads on a 36ct wool canvas and the size was 14.5 x 12.5 inches.

I find it interesting that the only damage on the sampler is the area where the date would have been. Harriet was born 24 June 1807 in Penistone, Yorkshire, England. She would have stitched this sampler in 1822."

The measurements given in the pattern are for 32 ct. Light Sand Belfast linen.  There are 14 DMC colors used in this chart. Aida will not work as there are multiple over-one sections.
