MARY RANDAL 1803 by The Scarlet Letter

MARY RANDAL 1803 by The Scarlet Letter

$29.00Price

This design was excerpted from the top of an early nineteenth-century English sampler. It features an unusual and amusing hunting scene with a solo hunter on horseback pursuing a single hapless stag with a pack of ten spotted hounds on its trail.

The verse reads:
Give me O Lord thy early Grace
Nor let my Soul complain
That the Young Morning of my Days
Has all Been Spent in Vain

The strongly horizontal shape of the sampler lends itself to numerous decorating possibilities in a variety of tight spaces—sort of a reverse band sampler. Only cross stitch is used to complete the sampler. On 40-count linen, the finished piece will measure approximately 23″ x 9-1/2″

It is recommended for any level of skill.
