No history is known of the sampler maker or its origins. The original full antique is gorgeous with a multitude of rich colors, diversity of layout, and precision of stitches. It is done completely in cross stitch, with an intricate band of roses and florals above a New England style pastoral church scene with two tiny figures of a man and woman in genteel clothing on the church lawn.
