PLATE-I-TUDES: PLAY NICE by Shakespeare's Peddler

PLATE-I-TUDES: PLAY NICE by Shakespeare's Peddler

$12.00Price

I hope you enjoy this offering in the Plate-itudes line. My phrase is "Soyez Sagez," which means "Play Nice." There is also a chart in the chart pack that says "Play Nice" in English." My chart pack also includes clear finishing instructions with photographs. You also get a floral urn chart, a small chart that says "amitie" (friendship), and a full monogram alphabet if you want to make a tiny dollhouse plate monogram pincushion (see mine right next to the tomato in the photograph).

The china pattern is called "Provence Red" by English Ironstone and was made in the 60's and 70's. Because these charts are monochromatic, you can change the color to match your plate. Mine are stitched on 40-count Winter Moon linen with a variety of red threads. I used saucers, but if you work with a count where your pieces will end up larger, you can use salad plates or dinner plates!

Sunday at market can often be pretty quiet. And it can get to feeling like there aren't surprises at market anymore. SO! Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery had the wonderful idea of a Sunday-only, market exclusive release. Picture two hints at my contribution!

Imagine a grouping of pretty plates on the wall, but each with an added word or phrase in cross stitch: this is the essence of Plate-i-tudes, a lovely, meaningful, and sometimes sassy experiment!
