NEEDLEWORK DAY CAMP REGISTRATION
Announcing my first ever Lehigh Valley Needlework Day Camp:
Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.Hyatt Place/Hyatt House at
621 Grange Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania
Now that we've settled in here in beautiful Pennsylvania, I'm ready to start hosting day camps for stitchers in the area. This is a one-day event, and so there are no hotel rooms to book or suitcases to pack. I've been looking for the perfect place to host an event here, and this 3-year-old hotel has a beautiful big space for us to sit and stitch the day away!
Just $75, and limited to 100 stitchers.
The fee includes:
• A luxurious stitching room with big windows and extension cords for table lamps. Stitchers will be seated at large round banquet tables of six to eight, with plenty of elbow room. The event is on the main level, with no stairs or elevators to take. There is plenty of parking outside, too.
• I'll have a HUGE pop-up shop there with models, charts, kits, fabrics, threads, gift items, and more.
• Goodie bags and door prizes!
• Show-and-tell table: you can bring pieces you've finished to show off to your fellow attendees.
• Optional game of Left, Right, Center: bring three skeins of over-dyed threads to take your chance at winning your table's pile of thread.
• Lunch is optional at the hotel and an additional $15 fee, paid to the facility during the camp. There are also great places to grab a bite near to the hotel, if you want to leave for lunch. I do expect it will be hot outside, so the hotel lunch will not only be delicious, it'll make it easy for you to stay cool as a cucumber and quickly make it back to your stitching.
This is a casual, fun event. Dress in whatever makes you feel happy and comfy. This is open to stitchers of all abilities. Bring one project, or bring ten. Come as a single, or come in a group. While the event starts at 9 a.m., do not worry if you aren't here right when it begins.
Coming as a group? I can accommodate up to eight at a table. Future e-mails sent to the attendees will give you the opportunity to claim your table mates, as seats will be assigned. If there are more than eight of you, I can make sure your tables are next to each other.
Keep in mind, this is time to stitch whatever you're working on. It isn't a class. Don't be shy if you don't stitch on linen, or if you're new to stitching. I want everybody to be supportive of their fellow day campers and share the joy of stitching while getting to know new friends or spend time with friends old-and-dear.
(Note: If you've attended the Grace Notes events, this is the SAME exact hotel; coincidentally, I walked into the Hyatt that Corrine uses. The staff at the hotel have already worked with groups of stitchers, so they are well-acquainted with our needs.)
Entire retreat fee is due at the time of sign-up. Refunds given via original form of payment for cancellations until July 10th. After that time, I may not be able to find people to take your place.
Do I plan on doing future events? Yes, I do! A full weekend retreat is in the planning stages for 2026. I also would like to offer Day Camps every couple of months.
